Research Assistance

EGS will provide look-ups for members living outside King County, WA, at no charge other than copy and mail costs. Non-members are asked to donate $10 for each name searched.

Using The King County Library

Eastside Genealogical Society has contributed time and money to build the Genealogy Reference Collection at Bellevue Regional Library. Our annual budget provides approximately $800 into this resource. You can access all the genealogy materials by using the library catalog at http://www.kcls.org

1. Reference books can be ordered through Inter-library Loan and you can use them at the library. Circulating books can be ordered for check out.
2. Databases include Ancestry and Heritage Quest which provide census records and many more books.
3. KCLS has an on-line guide which has one category for Genealogy. Sites like Ellis Island and Ships are on this page.
4. Newspapers, magazines, and society newsletters are either in the stacks or in the Genealogy Vertical Files at Bellevue Regional Library.

5. EGS partners with King County Library. Go to KCLS.org and search for “events” and “genealogy” to find classes and individual help with genealogy research. In-person and Zoom events are both available.
