EGS Special Interest Groups (SIGS)

EGS has many Special Interest Groups with the following meeting schedules. For specific monthly information please click each SIG’s name on the left to open their webpage. The Special Interest Groups that are still holding meetings do so using Zoom meetings. Click the name of the group to see more information. Location addresses are below.


Meets the 4th Saturday in the Community Room at Crossroads Shopping Center at 9:30 AM. They will be meeting via Zoom until it’s deemed safe from the Pandemic. Here is the zoom link.

Family Tree Maker

When in-person meetings are allowed, the Family Tree Maker SIG meets on the third Friday of each month from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Conference Room at the Newcastle Library (12901 Newcastle Way, Newcastle). There are times when the room is unavailable on the third Friday, and we have had to meet on either the second Friday or the fourth Friday. Check here for upcoming meeting information.

The next virtual meeting is scheduled for Friday, November 19th from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. via Zoom. If you would like to attend and are not on the SIG mailing list, please send an e-mail to to request the meeting link. There will not be a Family Tree Maker SIG meeting in October.

Irish and Scots-Irish

The Irish SIG will meet on Thursday, April 29th for their monthly IRISH SIG Zoom Meeting at 1:00 pm. Please contact Diane Hughes-Hart prior to our meeting to get the Zoom meeting ID.

The DNA SIG meets on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 1:00 PM via Zoom. If you wish to attend DNA SIG meetings , send an email request to Bruce Lee at


The German Interest Group meets on the 1st Friday of each month, except July, August and December, from 12:30 to 2:30 pm Pacific time.  When we meet in-person, it’s in the Relief Society Room of the LDS Church at 10675 NE 20th St, Bellevue, WA 98004. When we meet virtually, all active members are sent the link to the meeting and others can request it using the Chat tab on our website. Join us at 12:10 pm for networking.
