Eastside Genealogical Society invites you to attend an event or become a member.

EGS Special Interest Groups (SIGs)

EGS has many Special Interest Groups, who regularly meet under the sponsorship of EGS to discuss items of specific interest to people pursuing genealogical research. Content of SIG meetings may vary from primarily informal/social to principally program oriented. All EGS sponsored SIGs are open to members and non-members alike.

Unless otherwise noted, Special Interest Groups meet using Zoom and meeting times listed are Pacific time (PT).

Lunch Bunch

Bring your lunch and join us in-person on the 3rd Thursday of each month from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM PT. We discuss what we are doing in genealogy and also have a very short program on a topic such as a new feature in a genealogy program or a recent article or video of interest. The group meets at the LDS church at 10675 NE 20th Street, Bellevue. Additionally, attendees can walk over to the FamilySearch Center to do some research or try out what they learned. For more information, contact Celia McNay at membership@eastsidegenealogicalsociety.org.

Artificial Intelligence

Eastside Genealogical Society is starting a new Special Interest Group (SIG), an Artificial Intelligence SIG. The purpose of it will be to learn together about using AI to help with our genealogy, encourage each other, and share information, tips, and resources.

We will hold an organizational meeting Tuesday, April 28th, 10am PT via Zoom.

Please email AIsig@eastsidegenealogicalsociety.org to get the Zoom link. If you are interested but unable to attend, please let us know at the same email address.

Family Tree Maker

The Family Tree Maker SIG is designed for genealogists who are using, or considering using, Family Tree Maker software to house their genealogical information. It meets on the 3rd Friday of each month from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM PT. Attendees are encouraged to bring challenges or questions to obtain assistance from others. If you would like to attend and are not on the email distribution list, please email ftmsig@eastsidegenealogicalsociety.org to obtain the Zoom link.

Genealogy Book SIG

If you like to read, the EGS Genealogy Book SIG might be for you. This group meets on the 2nd Friday of each month at 10:00 AM PT to discuss a chosen fiction or non-fiction book related to genealogy. To get information on the next great read and the Zoom link contact Kimberly Nichols at vicepresident@eastsidgenealogicalsociety.org.
